Inpatient cases

1 Once the patient receives initial care, and the treating doctor determines they need to be hospitalized, ME will send BP a full medical report. Hospitals don’t give any information without a release of information consent, signed by the patient. ME are then able to obtain medical information, either written or verbal, and forward them on to BP.

2 BP medical staff reviews medical information and policy conditions of coverage and determines if admission and/or treatment is authorised.

3 If admission is covered, BP will send a guarantee of payment for hospitalisation, with max cover for medical expenses. ME will guarantee on BP’s behalf for the hospitalisation.

Outpatient cases

1 BP coordinator communicates via email with our operations center to request medical assistance.

2 Details to be provided to ME: case reference, patient’s full details and symptoms.

3 ME will confirm receipt of a new case, and send full details of the clinic and medical appointment (address, doctor, date, time etc.).

4 BP informs the patient of their medical appointment details. All contact with the patient will be made directly from BP.

5 BP confirms the patient’s attendence with ME via email.

6 After the consultation, ME will send medical notes and an invoice to BP.

7 In the instance the patient has been referred to a specialist, pathology or radiology, ME will await for confirmation prior to doing any tests.

8 Once BP have approved the tests, ME will send new details for referral, address date, time etc.

9 In the instance patients require follow up consultations, it will be stated on the report or the doctor may inform the patient verbally; this will be the decision of BP, ME will always await confirmation and instructions.
